8/13/2023 0 Comments Cetus3d extendedI've messed with the 0.4 nozzle and 0.2 mm layers, but it can do the 0.1 mm layers with the 0.2 nozzle. There are profiles for Simplif圓D and Cura, but I haven't gotten into that either because as you mentioned they require a bit of tinkering (I will after finals are done though). I haven't messed with the 0.2 nozzle yet unfortunately, so I can't comment on that yet. Took less than 30 minutes to set up and calibrate and I haven't had a print turn out badly yet. I've had a really great experience with my cetus so far. I decided to go for the cetus because it seemed like a reasonable upgrade, and I wouldn't have to deal with a lot of tinkering. I ended up returning it the same day after not being able to get a successful print and it having a warped bed. I just got into 3d printing this month and I bought the new MP select mini v2. I may try a tiny detailed print with the 0.2mm nozzle later just to see how it fares but FDM will never achieve the same level of tiny detail. I don't think there is a better printer available under the $500 price point, however SLA may be a better option for your line of work. Just the fact that I don't have to level the bed is a huge selling point for me, something I have invested immense time on with my other printer. I've modded my Maker Select to hell and back making small improvements and while it does a great job, the Cetus3D is doing considerably better in many regards. The biggest plus is that it does it right out of the box, assembly is just 5 screws and you are ready to go. My prints so far on it have looked exquisite, better than anything I was ever able to achieve on my Maker Select. The limited G-Code support does put some reliance on their slicer software though. The heated bed can be purchased separately so not a huge deal (and not necessarily needed, depends on what material you are printing). The lack of an included heated bed is one of the drawbacks, the partial G-Code support is the other. I don't know how it compares to the Prusa MK2 as I don't have one but based on the results others have posted, I would say they are similar. but it is still an FDM printer and it isn't perfect. My general consensus is that for the price, it's fantastic. I'm writing a review of the Cetus3D Extended right now, will likely have it done later today or tomorrow. ![]() 2mm nozzle than can share their results with me? So are there any Cetus owners here pushing the limits of there printer using the. The Cetus seems to have a fast learning curve compared to other printers which will be important in my work environment. I wonder how the Cetus slicer will handle my Solid Works solid models. Cetus is not open source but is making an effort to incorporate other slicers which sounds buggy at this point. It does seem to be made with high quality linear rails rather than rods. It's a new printer and doesn't seem to have a huge following. I did some research on the Cetus but didn't find much to verify the quality of it's product compared to other printers. My parts will fit in a 6" box and 2" max height. The person I'm talking with tells me a Cetus will produce top notch 3d pla parts with it's. Boss would not be happy with a printer that needs assembly so no kits. Originally I was looking at a Prusa but it looks like the wait time is like 2 months for an assembled unit. Currently we use pay someone to produce an SLA of our designs but would like to try 3d printing with some of our product. ![]() I work with plastic injection molding and we occasionally like to have a plastic part to show a customer a product or test a design before we proceed with making a plastic injection mold. Accuracy and finish and are my main attributes I need in a printer. I will be buying my first 3d printer and a friend of mine who has some experience in 3d printing is telling me that a Cetus 3D printer is the perfect option for my needs. I'm looking for Cetus owner who can tell me how it compares to other printers namely a Prusa MK2 in print quality. When working with a tool like GitHub you will be working with branches that are hosted on a remote web server. Git handles most interactions with the remote tracking branches automatically, so you'll never have to merge or interact with one directly. You can think of a remote tracking branch as a copy of your local branch that is used to determine if you're in sync or out of sync with the remote of the branch. When synced with a remote, each of your local branches will have a corresponding remote tracking branch. Branches are synced between your local repo and the remote repo using the git pull and git push commands. The remote repository is usually hosted on a platform like GitHub or BitBucket. This should allow you to run the previous commands and delete the master branch in your remote repository.įor most local branches that you work on, you'll want to sync up those changes with a copy of the branch in a remote repository. If you get an error, you may need to log into GitHub and change the default branch to main before you delete the master branch. If you need to sync that up with your remote repository, you can use the following commands: $ git push -u origin main You can make Git rename your local master branch to main as follows: $ git branch -m master main A common modern day trend is to use a branch name of main rather than master as the primary branch. This means at minimum you will always be working with one branch. When you first initialize a repository a create your first commit, you will be on a branch called master by default. Lastly, since creating a branch and checking it out is such a common task, Git provides a useful shortcut to create a branch and check it out in a single command: $ git checkout -b Switching to a branch is referred to as checking out a branch: git checkout You can use the git branch command to create new branch in your Git repository: $ git branch īefore you can use the newly created branch you need to switch to it. This encourages frequent branch creation in many development workflows. This simply means that a Git branch is really just a label that points to a specific commit - there is no new data structure in Git that represents a branch. Individual developers can easily create their own local branches to make changes without worrying about interference from other devs.Īs previously mentioned, Git has a lightweight branching model. In some workflows, a new branch is created for each new feature, these are referred to as "feature branches". ![]()
